Pittsburgh, PA – Chesterfield Special Cylinders Inc. (CSC), which supplied the USAF with safety-critical high pressure cylinders for its fleet of F-22 Raptors, is exhibiting at Sea Air Space 2018 (stand 1952 in the main exhibition hall).

Following further orders, CSC is also now the world’s leading supplier of high pressure gas flasks to navies, working with almost every friendly navy in the world.  With contracts for the design and manufacture of bespoke gas flasks from countries including Canada, Germany, Spain and Chile, CSC is also providing global Integrity Management services to navies.

The company was originally established in the UK to make cylinders for the Royal Navy. Its Pittsburgh, PA office handles sales into the American defence sector.

Speaking at the CSC Pittsburgh office, Director of US Technical Sales Brian Mueller says: “Manufacturing flasks to naval standards including bespoke curved designs for specialist applications, CSC is a truly global supplier. It provides more navies and air forces with safety-critical gas flasks than any other manufacturer. With customers such as BAE Systems and the USAF, via a contract with Honeywell – as well as navies as far afield as Australia, Brazil and Sweden – CSC has a truly global reach.

“SAS is an important event to CSC. It enables us to update clients and to hear from them their ideas and needs for future developments.”

In the UK, CSC has fulfilled £multi-million contracts to supply gas flasks for the Royal Navy’s seven Astute-class nuclear submarine.

CSC manufactures high pressure gas flasks for breathing air, ballast, weapon propulsion, reactor cooling, diving support and emergency systems, all to global accreditations and standards, including:
